Dive Into Fun at the Hanscom Pool!

Make a splash this season at our Aquatics Center, home to a stunning Olympic-sized pool, the perfect place to cool off, relax, or take part in one of our exciting aquatic programs!

Whether you’re looking to swim laps or just enjoy some leisurely pool time, we’ve got you covered with dedicated zones for lap swimming and recreational swimming. Prefer to stay dry? Stretch out and unwind in our spacious poolside lounge area, complete with comfortable seating and plenty of sunshine.

We’ve got everything you need for a great day at the pool, including locker rooms, shower facilities, and a team of certified lifeguards on duty whenever the pool is open, your safety is our top priority!

Looking for group fitness or team training? Units with 20 or more people can reserve time for PT sessions in the pool.

In the event of severe weather, the pool will close and will remain closed for 30 minutes after the last sighting of lightning or thunder. Safety first!

Prepare for Lifeguard Certification

Come to the Hanscom Pool to pre-qualify for the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course:

AMERICAN RED CROSS SWIM TEST
Swim 200 Yards (Non-Stop): Swim 200 yards without stopping (8 lengths of a 25-yard pool). Choose freestyle (front crawl) or breaststroke, or switch between them.

Tread Water for 2 Minutes (Hands-Free)
Immediately transition after the 200-yard swim to treading water for 2 minutes, without using your hands.

Swim 100 Yards (After Treading)
After treading water for 2 minutes, swim 100 yards (4 lengths of a 25-yard pool). Choose freestyle or breaststroke, or switch between them.

TIMED BRICK RETRIEVAL
Simulated Rescue, 1 Minute and 40 Seconds Swim 20 yards freestyle or backstroke.
Surface dive to the bottom of the pool (approximately 8ft deep). Retrieve the brick with both hands and swim back to the starting point keeping your face above water. Exit the pool without using a ladder or steps.

Rules and Policies

  • Active Duty Members, Guard/Reserve Members, Retirees, DoD Civilians, dependents, and contractors are authorized to use this facility.
  • Persons without authorized government identification are considered a guest and will be charged a daily guest fee.
  • Maximum of 4 guests are authorized per visit, and all guests must remain with their host.
  • IDs will be checked for appropriate ages.
  • Adult lap swim is open to ages 18 and above.
  • Youth ages 11 and under must have parent/guardian supervision.
  • Adult to Child Ratio is 1:6 for children ages 11 and under.
  • Non-swimmers and children aged four years and younger are required to be accompanied in the water and remain within arm’s reach of a supervising adult who is at least eighteen years of age.
  • For hygiene and safety reasons, all children who are not toilet-trained must wear a properly fitted swim diaper while in the pool and surrounding areas.
  • All children must be dressed and undressed on the designated changing tables located within the locker rooms. Changing children in other areas of the facility is prohibited.
  • Only personal flotation devices (PFDs) bearing approval from the United States Coast Guard are permitted for use in the pool facility. All other flotation devices are strictly prohibited.
  • For the safety of all patrons, the wearing of face masks in the swimming pool is strictly prohibited. Exceptions may be granted for specific military training with prior approval from a lifeguard on duty. Please inquire at the front desk or with a lifeguard for further information.
  • Patrons aged fourteen years and younger must demonstrate swimming proficiency by passing a designated swim test before being permitted access to the deep end of the pool.

Splash Pad Rules

  • NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY
  • Please walk at all times
  • Splash Pad is for children ages 6 and under and must wear appropriate swim apparel – bathing suits, rash shirts, and swim diapers (regular diapers not allowed)
  • Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian (18 years or older)
  • Slip resistant or water shoes are recommended
  • No food, glass containers, strollers, water toys
  • No horseplay, pushing, or climbing on the equipment
  • No towels or clothing on the fence
  • No chairs on the black Splash Pad top
  • No Smoking
  • Splash Pad will be closed In the event of threatening weather
