Relocation Assistance
The goal of the Hanscom Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) is to ease the personal stressors that military families experience during a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) by providing assistance, counseling, sponsorship training, and education throughout all phases of the relocation process.
Visit the Military and Family Readiness Center to pick up a base map upon your arrival. Those of you who are PCSing to another installation, stop in to grab a backpack full of goodies for your children (primary/middle school ages) to help prepare them for your move. Call 781.225.2765 and leave children’s information (age, grade, gender) so that we can customize these gifts for them.
Relocation Assistance Program Classes
Newcomer’s In-Processing
Mandatory for Active Duty Air Force/DoD Civilians new to Hanscom AFB. This class includes briefings essential to your adjustment to Massachusetts life and includes information about local organizations/agencies.
Sponsorship Training
Become a relocation sponsor by completing an electronic application and training course (eSAT). This training is about 30 minutes long and provides templates for initial correspondence with your newcomer as well as a “needs assessment” survey that you can send them for completion. The “needs assessment” will give you (the sponsor) a clear picture of your newcomer’s needs as they prepare for their move. Click here to go to training.
